And a ruler questioned him, saying, "Good Teacher, what having done will I inherit eternal life?"
Jesus said to him: "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except one — God."
You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, honor your father and your mother.'"
And he said, "All these I have kept from my youth."
Having heard these things, Jesus said to him: "Yet one thing to you is lacking: all as much as you have, do sell and do distribute to the destitute, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, do follow Me, do follow Me."
And having heard these things, he became very sorrowful, for he was rich exceedingly.
Having seen him, Jesus said: "How with difficulty do those having riches enter into the kingdom of God!"
For it is easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
Then those having heard said, "And who is able to be saved?"
But He said: "The things impossible with men are possible with God."
Then Peter said, "Behold, we ourselves having abandoned our own things followed You."
And He said to them: "Truly I say to you that there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God,
who will not receive back manifold in this appointed time, and in the age to come, eternal life."
