Freedom in Christ

1Christ has set us free for freedom. Stand firm, then, and do not be entangled again in a yoke of slavery. [5:2] Look, I, Paul, say to you that if you get circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you. [5:3] I testify again to every man who gets circumcised that he is obligated to keep the whole Law. [5:4] You are severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the Law; you have fallen away from grace. [5:5] For we, by the Spirit, through faith, are eagerly awaiting the hope of righteousness. [5:6] For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any power, but faith working through love. [5:7] You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? [5:8] This persuasion is not from the one who called you. [5:9] A little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough. [5:10] I am confident in the Lord about you, that you will think no differently. But the one who is troubling you will bear the judgment, whoever he is. [5:11] But I, brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case, the offense of the cross has been abolished. [5:12] Let those who are stirring you up emasculate themselves! [5:13] For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. [5:14] For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' [5:15] But if you bite and devour one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another.
