[6:7] For land that drinks the rain that often falls on it and produces vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated receives a blessing from God. [6:8] But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned. [6:9] But concerning you, beloved, we are convinced of better things — things that belong to salvation — though we speak in this way. [6:10] For God is not unjust, so as to forget your work and the love you have shown toward his name, having served and continuing to serve the saints. [6:11] And we desire each of you to show the same diligence, so as to realize the full assurance of hope to the end, [6:12] so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patient endurance inherit the promises.
