After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there not many days.
And the Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
And in the temple he found those selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting.
And having made a whip from cords, he drove them all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.
And to those selling the doves he said, "Take these things away from here; do not make my Father's house a house of trade."
His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will consume me."
Therefore the Jews answered and said to him, "What sign do you show us, since you do these things?"
Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."
Therefore the Jews said, "This temple was built in forty-six years, and you will raise it up in three days?"
But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
Therefore when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, at the feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs that he was doing.
But Jesus himself was not entrusting himself to them, because he knew all men,
and because he had no need that anyone testify about man, for he himself knew what was in man.
